Many home stagers face financial roadblocks simply because they lack an understanding of key accounting principles. This engaging training session is designed specifically for professionals in the home staging industry who want to take control of their finances, understand job costing, and confidently apply markups to improve their bottom line.
 
In this workshop, we’ll cover the foundational concepts of accounting to help you understand the "big picture" of your business finances and set the stage for future financial success.


Diane will cover: 

  • Profit & Loss Chart of Accounts: Learn how to track income, costs of delivering jobs, company expenses, and "other income and costs" to identify your true net income.
  • Balance Sheet Basics: Understand the three O’s: what you own (assets), what you owe (liabilities), and what’s left over (owner’s equity).
  • How Accounts Work: Discover how accounts act as "buckets" to organize your transactions and how they connect to your Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statement.
  • Cash vs. Accrual Accounting: Explore the pros and cons of each accounting method and identify which is best for your business.
  • Markup and Margin: Hands-on exercises to help you master the difference between markup and margin and their impact on your gross profit.
